Old-Time & Traditional Country Music
Featuring Twin Fiddles, Banjo, Guitar & Bass.

The Corndrinkers are pleased to be sponsoring a concert with Hawaiian Steel Guitarist, Bobby Ingano, on July 11 at the Little Art Theater in Yellow Springs.  This concert will include old-time music of the Corndrinkers, Hawaiian music with Bobby Ingano, and some western swing music with Bobby, the Corndrinkers and special guests.

A Miami Valley cultural institution since the mid-1970s, The Corndrinkers
is an old-time stringband that channels the sound and spirit of the
"Golden Age" of country music - the 1920s and 1930s. Wtih the twin
fiddles of Linda Scutt and Barb Kuhns echoing the great north Georgia
dance bands and leading the charge, Tom Duffee (banjo), Doug Smith
(guitar) and Al Turnbull (bass) have played at festivals and dances
throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and elsewhere
in the Appalachian region.

The Band is a Saturday night tradition in southwestern Ohio,
thanks to the frequent square dances the Corndrinkers have
hosted for more than a quarter century at Carriage Hill Farm
in Huber Heights. Inspired by the songs and tunes of such
country music pioneers as Uncle Dave Macon, the Skillet
Lickers, Charlie Poole and the Carter Family, the band has
recorded two CDs, The Corndrinkers and Corndrinkers Still.
